Apologies for not blogging.. Getting closer now....

Just tried the win32 packager script last night to build win32 bins in Windows 7RC... It works, and took under an hour on a E5300 dual core CPU.

Great stuffs mythdevs.. Still untested, so will run it tonight and see how it goes..

So I got this new card Xonar Slim... Only did a quick test, but it seems I can get bitstreaming to work.. So I'm happy, or I think... Can't get mythtv recordings to work in Windows at all. Tried XBMC, it works with music, AVIs, but just not mythtv recordings. Traced to mtyhtv/libmythupnp/httprequest.cpp.

sendfile64 always fails. Now is it because the files are > 2GB? No. Because I tried a 45mb file and that still failed.

My recordings are stored on a NAS, and mounted on the mythbackend machine via CIFS. And sendfile will get me an error 75, value too large blah blah blah. And if I mount it as NFS, I get error 32, broken pipe.

Now i can't get BD to play in Linux coz it doesn't do bitstraming and does not support Xonar Slim.. And I can't get mythtv recordings to work in WIndows coz god knows why.

PS: If this post makes no sense, it's because it's not meant to!

Havn't been to a Coles supermarket for a while. Just went to the local Coles yesterday. Oh my god the range it carries is pathetic.. The fresh produce section is far from fresh, there are limited choices on the shelves, and the deli section is short on choices as well.

One of the worst places I have visited, and there are no customers.

What in heavens are they trying to do this brand?

I am pretty surprised that my ViewSonic monitor is able to carry digital PCM audio over HDMI.. And a DVI->HDMI cable still works (i.e. my 9500GT video card pipes digital audio over its DVI port too).

But I hit a problem with HDCP in Windows 7... Still trying to figure out the problem.

Took a while, but finally upgraded the blog software. Seems good so far... If you notice anything broken, do tell.

Need to find more skins.

I have installed Windows 7 Release Candidate as a virtual machine (VirtualBox 3.0.4). What to say, wow! Everything just works, there are elements of WindowsXP once you get beyond the eye candy, but it is a very solid OS (inside a virtualised machine).

Just might changeover to Windows. Problem is, the Asus Xonar card is out of stock..

Since I have been gone for a while.. Been very busy lately... So many things to do, so little time.. Writing a post to signify to you guys (0) out there that I am still alive and well.

Things will be back to normal soon, I think...

I have this 2TB WD MySpace II Premium (2x1T about 1.5 years ago. The first disk (Disk A) died 2 months back.

Today I think Disk B is suffering a similiar fate. It's RMA time again. I have 6 more WD harddisks.. Not sure if I should still stick to this brand anymore.

Anybody have failures with their 10EACS? If yes please share!
