I got one of those master/slave powerboards today. It's a Jackson branded power strip with "Planet Ark" endorsements.

You'd can find this at Bunnings and BigW store in WA. The thing works, but plug the bare strip to a power outlet and it draws 12-13W straightaway... Elektra T7 with 12V trigger draws 0W, so there's no reason why Jackson can't do the same.

I'd be happy with 5W, not >10W, esp when it's endorsed by GP and advertised as saving the environment. I am actually using 13W extra regardless. So all that CO2 emission crap is just bs... I'm going to return this tomorrow and hopefully Bunnings will refund my money..

Painting of the walls almost complete now. With a darker colour the whole place seems narrower. Oh well, will put in the decor and see how it goes.

Time to shop for new rugs.

So I have relaid the living area with polished porcelain tiles (600x600) now. The kitchen is more or less done and must say the brown walls shows up quite nicely (I can still remember how scared I was when the corners are painted, I'm in my usual panicked mode and thinking ultra fast - OMG OMG OMG what to do what to do what to do? ).

Setup a basic 2.0 system with the Denon 3808A and DVD-2930. It sounded bad, I think the tiles is having an adverse effect on acoustics. Frustrated I have no other choice but to lug out the Elektra T7 amp from storage. The dynamics have improved somewhat but the audio is still horrible.

Need to really consider treating the room to improve audio, and a good quality rug too. Hopefully this will turn out better than before.

Once this is done, I can concentrate on a dedicated 2.0 setup in the study.

The dollar has been climbing steadily (should drop back today hopefully). Seems folks are betting on the prospect of an interest rate rise from the RBA in the coming months.

So I am repainting my lounge and living area. Decided on Dulux paint. Just to be safe decided to paint a prep coat (1 step) first before applying the paint (wash and wear).

The Dulux 1 step prep coat is a lot easier to apply than Nippon 4 in 1. At just the right vicousity out of the tin it spreads better too.

So after a few days of filling, sanding, prepping etc yesterday came the big day to apply the first coat, that was the scariest time in recent memory as we painted the borders first and I was so afraid the outcome will be bad.

Thankfully after finishing the walls the results isn't that bad. Will give a final judgement only when all the walls are finished though (we will use Dulux Riverrock Burgundy for the main wall and use it as the feature wall).

One pet peeve is that the colour cards do not match the real colour (so far, maybe it'd match after the second coat).

This has got to be the best marketing ploy ever. Come out with a crap product and a crap name, and the end result is free publicity.

Kudos for their ingenuity, would not have given this a second thought had this product been given any other name. First example of something named so bad it's actually good.

The ironic thing about the PS3 is that the less features it has, the more it sells... Perhaps Sony had made the wrong strategy in designing a box that can do everything. But as it stands, 3 years later, the PS3 has dumbed down to just a BD player and game console, nothing more. Maybe this is what the general audience want all along.. Not me... But still undecided on which console to get. 360 for Forza 3, or PS3 for GT5? Reviews from Akihabaranews about Forza3 and GT3. Decisions, decisions...

Suprisingly not much.. 1 ton sounds like a huge number.. And it is, moving 1 ton by hand is not easy, I think my back hurts now..

38 boxes at 31kg each = 1178kg, add an additional 7.75kg.. And wham, that's approximately 14 times my body weight.
