Why is Vettel so obsessed with buttons

he pushed a button and disappeared ahead, but I was able to stay close.
Why is Vettel so obsessed with buttons? Is he peeved that Button won the championship? The rules for the year are clear, if you don't agree to the rules, change to a team with the button, or stop racing as a protest.
Sure the KERS system is not fair, but bear in mind the penalties of the extra weight. And did Button win the championship with Kers?
